Customization That Tells Your Story

Make It Yours. Literally.
Every Harwood Kettle can be customized to reflect what matters most to you:

  • Custom words or phrases around the rim

  • Family names, business names, or meaningful dates

We design, mold, and cast your custom text directly into the iron—this isn’t paint or a decal. It’s part of the kettle forever.

Nothing mass-produced. No shortcuts.
Every Harwood Kettle starts as raw iron and is molded, poured, and finished by hand, the way our family’s been working since 2012. Each one bears the marks of real craftsmanship—subtle variations, honest textures, and the confidence of quality built to last a lifetime.

Production: We keep a limited number in stock. Custom orders take 8–12 weeks.

  • Shipping: USA & Canada only; delivered safely by LTL freight.

How the Harwood Kettle is Made

  1. Design & Layout

We start with your size, text, and layout. Once you approve the wording and placement, we have three pattern styles to choose from.

  2. Molding the Kettle

Your design is pressed into a sand mold, the same way industrial castings for paper mills and heavy equipment are made. Each mold is built fresh for your order, so every kettle gets its own dedicated setup.

  3. Melting & Pouring the Iron

We melt down high-quality iron in our family foundry, then pour it by hand into your mold. This is where your lettering becomes part of the kettle itself—cast in one solid piece.

  4. Shakeout, Grinding & Finishing

After the iron cools, we break the mold open (“shakeout”), remove gates and risers, and hand-grind every edge and surface. We’re looking for smooth transitions, clean letters, and the kind of finish we’d want in our own backyard.

  5. Inspection

Each kettle is checked for thickness, integrity, and overall look.

  6. Packing & Freight

When it passes inspection, your kettle is crated for LTL freight. We build our packaging so it can survive forklifts, trucking hubs, and long hauls across the U.S. and Canada.
